Make Cat Toys and Make Your Cat Happy
Cats love a good cat toy, especially if it contains catnip! With these free cat toy patterns, you can use up scraps of yarn, felt, and fabric and make Miss Priss happy too!
Ah, the lure of fresh catnip poured into a cat toy you lovingly make is a treat for your cat. And you get to sit back and watch them toss the cat toys in the air and kick them with their back legs. You know what I mean.

Gather the Supplies to Make a Cat Toy - with Catnip Please!
Some cats love catnip, and some cats couldn't care less.
Scarlett happens to love catnip, so I made her a cat toy with catnip. Here are the supplies I used to make the cat toy:
~ felt (four colors, but do what you want... the design is mostly for you, not the cat!)
~ scissors
~ something round to trace a circle (I used a yogurt cup)
~ needle and thread
~ catnip
Cat Toy from a Freeform Pattern - Make a Simple Cat Toy
I used the yogurt cup shown above to trace two circles of felt. I cut them out.
Then I added the cat's features (surely you can do better than this!) and sewed the eyes, nose, whiskers on one piece of felt.
Then I put the other piece of felt under the front piece and sewed around the edges.
I left an opening and added catnip, then I sewed it up completely.
I threw it on the floor and watched Scarlett sniff away.
